Our charming Gulf View Cottages are one bedroom units that are located just steps from the beautiful sand and shell studded beach. Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with a full size refrigerator, glass top stove and coffee maker, a large and comfortable living area, free Wi-Fi, a generous dining nook, and private screened in porch with a partial view of the beach. Each unit can accommodate up to 4 people with a king bed in the bedroom, and a queen sofa sleeper in the living room. Each has a flat screen TV and DVD player in the living room. These tropical cottages are decorated in a bright and airy island motif with terrazzo flooring and are approximately 625 sq ft or larger in size.

  We loved Sanibel and the Waterside Inn. We really just kicked back and relaxed. There were all the modern conveniences, but the simplicity of old Florida. The cottage was perfect and the property and beach were beautiful. We would definitely go back. Inn staff were helpful with restaurant recommendations and very friendly.

  I wanted a do nothing, no hustle no hassle time at the beach. It had to be on the beach, clean, RELAXED, friendly, and, well, just beachy. This place was great. Sanibel is built up, but 3 stories max, quaint, lots of biking etc. not a hustle bustle place, but every lot is built on. Yet somehow, perhaps its all the trees, things seemed very private. It seemed like the Waterside Inn was the only place there. Quiet, shaded, quaint, nice pool, friendly staff, clean, adequately appointed, (It is an older property and it is not your luxury resort, it's a beach cottage.)You can rent a bike, a kayak, arrange boat tours, or sit on the beach. They have fishing gear and shuffle board for free, as well as beach chairs and towels. Lots of restaurants near by or use their grills, or cook in the full kitchen in your unit. What more could you want?

  A great place to stay on Sanibel. The pool was clean, close, and beautiful. The beach is barely a walk away and the cottage was clean and convenient for our needs. The staff was friendly and helpful, giving us clean towels for the beach and bathroom daily. Great place overall.

  This was a return stay for us. We stayed in April of 07 and now in June 14. Waterside Inn has everything you need for a relaxing and peaceful getaway. The property is clean and laid out just right and the cottages are adorable and complete with everthing you need. The beach is steps away.. with sparkling water and an abundant amount of beautiful, colorful shells. We have recommended Waterside to many..We will return one day as we can. It's our favorite place. Close to lots of good stuff too.. places to eat and shop. Love it!!

  We thoroughly enjoyed ou stay at the Waterside Inn. Our unit was G-8, one of the Grapefruit cottages and we loved it. Being able to park right there is such a treat when compared to big hotels and resorts. The walk to the beach was short, and we thought the pool was also fine for our daughter. We are already considering another trip to the same place sometime in the next few years. Everyone who worked there was friendly and helpfull. We would definitely recommend this 'resort' to our friends.

  Staying at Waterside is like entering a time machine...back to a simpler, relaxed place (and pace) where everyone is gracious and ready to make your stay comfortable. Steps from the beach. At full moon you can watch the sun rising to your left and the full moon setting to your right. Wow! Don't tell anybody about this place. I want to keep it a secret.

  First time in Sanibel. We had a wonderful time. Perfect place to get away from it all and spend quality family time. Pictures on Waterside website were honest. No surprises. Made all our meals in the full kitchen. Only problem was the supply of towels. I called ahead and asked if they supplied towels for the pool and beach. They said yes. We were not given any when we arrived. Next day we had to ask and we were told there were none available at that time. We had to keep checking back. Luckily, my husband had packed a few beach towels by mistake so we had some of our own.
  Some suggestions: there should be some picnic tables put outside on the property to have the option to eat outside. The only outside tables are around the pool and you are not allowed to eat by the pool. Also, pool could be alittle cleaner.

  Our 35th Anniversary stay represented our 3rd extended stay at Waterside. We like the fact the resort is "Pet Friendly" so our dog comes along for a "family stay". Waterside is convenient, quiet and ideally located among all of the things we enjoy about the Sanibel/Captiva experience.
